Renno & associates Applauds Government's Economic Revitalization Plans

Beirut, 4th December 2000 - Renno & associates, a specialized public relations and publishing agency, applauded the decision taken by the new Lebanese Cabinet to lower import duty and introduce new initiatives to revitalize the economy.

"Efforts to spur growth in the Lebanese economy will certainly create a healthy environment for commerce and trade in a market that has suffered from a bleak economic cycle," said officials from Renno & associates. "We applaud the Government's determination to turn Lebanon into the leading trade center in the region."

According to Renno & associates, the time is ripe for the private sector to compliment the Government's decision and provide consumers in the local and regional markets the impetus to choose Lebanon over the other trade centers in the Middle East.

As a specialized public relations consultancy firm, Renno & associates proposes the unification of all efforts - be it in the private and/or public sectors - to translate the objective of putting Lebanon back on the trade and commerce map of the region.

With focus on raising the profile of Lebanon as a travel and tourism destination, it is equally important to compliment this objective with the implementation of a five-year plan to strengthen the image of Lebanon's tourism industry and highlight its services.

According to officials at Renno & associates, it is all in the attitude. If the country, with all its sectors, is not ready to play the host to millions of visitors each year, then all the talk about regaining the country's lead in the region will go to waste.

From the open skies initiative to the reduction of import duty, the Government is asked to produce a global reputation management strategy in order to promote the country as a whole, along with its services and above all the reasons that make Lebanon the ideal holiday and investment destination over the other markets in the region.
